Newforma Project Search Tool

Use the Newforma Project Search tool to quickly search for text in files and items throughout Project Center (you can choose where to search).

To run the Newforma Project Search tool, right-click on the icon (located in the Windows Taskbar at the bottom right corner of the screen) and select Search. Type a phrase in the Enter a Search Phrase field, then click Search. You can also click the drop-down arrow next to the Search button to select where to search:

Current Project

Choose this option to search all files in the current project.

Project Email

Choose this option to search all .MSG and .EML files in the current project.

My Projects

Choose this option to search the current project and the projects listed in the My Projects tab of the My Project Center activity center.

Archived and Offline Projects

Choose this option to open the Select Archived and Offline Projects dialog box to select the archived project to include in the search.

Selected Projects

Choose this option to open the Select Projects dialog box to choose the projects to include in the search.

Newforma Community Site

Choose this option to search the Newforma Community Website for the text you entered.  The search text is passed as a parameter to the site and the search results appear on the website’s Search Results page.

Google Desktop

Choose this option to search files indexed by your Google Desktop. This option is available only if you have Google Desktop installed on your system.

 

The results appear in the Search Results window. Click an item in the results list to open it.

Externally referenced filesDrawing files often reference other files, including other drawings, as well as plot styles, images, standards, and font files associated with the drawing. Those references, or dependencies, are simply an embedded record of the path to the referenced objects or files. are automatically included in searches.

 

To access the Newforma Project Search tool

Right-click on the icon in the Windows Taskbar and select Search.
